The man of sin revealed _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I. The man of sin will be revealed in his time.(2Thes.2:1-8)
John says, "it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
A. We know that he (the man of sin) has power to continue 42 months And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. (3 1/2 years / 1260 days) B. THEN Jesus destroys him
The Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:(parousia) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
C. Revelation says that this man of sin "ascends from the bottomless pit"
"When they (the two witnesses Rev.11:1-7) shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth (ascends) out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." (Rev.11:7; 17:8)
1. Why is this important?"
This is important because this bottomless pit is NOT opened until "the fifth angel sounded, (the 5th trumpet Rev.8:1-13) and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key ofthe bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. (Rev.9:1-2) Review: PHASE 10
This further confirms that JESUS returns after all the Seals are open and all seven Trumpets have sounded. (Review: Order of events in Revelation PHASE 10)
