VI. Fifth angel sounded / bottomless pit was unlocked
     
       "And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon,
        and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third            part of it, and the night likewise. And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying
        with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet
        of the three angels, which are yet to sound" (Rev. 8:12-13)! "And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall
       from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit."  (Rev. 9:1)

      A.  Why is the bottomless pit important to our study?
     
                It is important because the "beast (i.e. The antichrist) ascends from the bottomless pit" (Rev 11:7-
                 8) that has been LOCKED until this star falls at the 5th trumpet. Therefore the antichrist (man of sin,
                son of perdition, beast 2Thes.2:2-3, 1John.2:18-19, Rev.13:1-18) cannot be revealed until this 5th.
​                trumpet sounds.
 
                1. The "beast" is identified as the antichrist

​                     This "beast" of Rev.11:7-8 is the same "beast" as in Rev.13, 17and19, 2Thes.2:3-4 and Dan.7:20-25 
                       because of their identification marks. He makes war with saints (Dan.7:25; Rev.13:7; 17:1-6).

                       He, the son of perdition, has power to continue for three and a half years (3½ years) or 42

                     months, 1260 days or time, times and half (dividing of) times (Rev. 11:3, 12:6, 14, 13:5, Dan.7:25) 
                     (2Thes.2:3-4; Rev.17:8-11). He is worshiped by those whose names are not written in the book

                     (Rev.13:8; 17:8). He is worshiped as God (Rev.13:4-8; 2Thes.2:4). He will be destroyed at

                     the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (2Thes.2:8: Rev.19:20-21). 

                     NOTE: Once the beast / antichrist is revealed at the 5th Trumpet, the Second Coming is
                     bound to take place 42 months later (after) (Rev.13:5, 2Thes.2:1-9)
