I.  Why are we using the Old Testament pattern?

     A.  Because Jesus did not destroy the Old Testament Covenant, He came to confirm and fulfill them
          1.  Think not (Matt.5:17-19, )
          2.  He is The Word (John.1:1-14, Note:v.11) 

     B.  Because Jesus opened up the apostles understanding to the Law, (that included the Burnt
          Offering Lev.1:9) Prophets and Psalms (Luke.24:44-45) because they "pertained" to the kingdom
          of God. (Acts.1:1-3, Rom.3:21-31; 14:17)
          1.  The Law
          2.  The Prophets
          3.  The Psalms

     C.  Because Peter used the reality of the Old Covenant to establish New Covenant truth (1Peter.1:10-12; 2:5-9;
            3:20-21, 2Peter.3:1-9)

     D.  Because Paul used the reality of the Old Covenant to establish New Covenant truth (Gal.1:11-12,
            1Cor.10:1-11 / Rom.15:4, Col.2:16-17, Heb.1-13, Eph.5:1-2, Phil.4:18)

     E.  Because James used the reality of the Old Covenant to establish New Covenant truth (Acts.15:1-17,
           James.5:7-8

     F.  Because John used the reality of the Old Covenant to establish New Covenant truth   (1John.3:11-15, Rev.8:1-4)
