FOOTNOTES / To the Jews first
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

[0]   Paul writes and Daniel Prophesied - 2Tim.3:16-17, 1 Peter.1:10-12
        a.  Paul was writing under the inspiration of  God
        b.  Daniel prophesied under the inspiration of God that Messiah would come, and Peter wrote that the
Messiah (the lamb of God) was "foreordained before the foundation of the world

[0]   Beloved because of the covenant - All the Covenants from Adam and Eve to the Cross build on each other
until JESUS (The WORD MADE FLESH) came fulfill them all in Himself.

[0]   If you break my covenant then I will do this to you.  Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I,
even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.  And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of
your daughters shall ye eat.  And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your
carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.   And I will make your cities waste,
and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.  And I will
bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.  And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and
        your cities waste" (Lev.26)

[0]   Would brake (Lev.26:1-33) their Covenant - They (the Jews) broke their covenant with God, but God
did not brake covenant with the House of Judah / Jews. (Heb.6:13-20, 2Tim.2:13)
        a.  This is evident in Romans 9,10 and 11 (Broken off with the promise of being grafted in again)
        b.  Grafted back into what they rejected, which is what the Gentiles were grafted into which is Eph.2:1-22.
After the Cross, there is ONLY ONE good olive tree. They are grafted into the Law of Moses BEFORE the
Cross. They will be grafted in again to the reality (the completion / fulfillment of the Law) in Christ THE
MESSIAH Matt.5:17-19) No earthly Temple, no animal sacrifices, no earthly high priest or priesthood
"For it is not possible the the blood of bulls and goats (and the ashes of an heifer Heb.9:13) should takes
             away sins.
        b.  And in Dan.9:24-27.
(see PHASE 5, Page. 7)

[0]   Natural branches - Strong's Con. #5449 / growth (by germination or expansion), i.e. (by implication) natural
production (lineal descent); by extension (man-)kind, nature(-al).

[0]   For if God spared not the natural branches - For if God spared not the children of the flesh / natural of
Abraham take heed lest he also spare not thee / you. (Rom.9:8, Eph.2:11-22)

        a.  Natural, is not in the sense that somehow because their (the Jews) nationality (lineal descent Matt.1:1-17,
Luke.3:23) it is easier to graffed them (The Nation) back into the "good (cultivated) olive tree." To say this
would be to contradict what God's Word say's, "for all have sinned have come short of the the glory of God."
(Rom.3:23 EVERYONE must be born again after the Cross. (John.3:1-16)
        b.  This is the "good olive (cultivated) tree" is God's Purpose (intent). (Eph.2:1-22; 3:1-12)
             (1)  Because the Gentiles are grafted into what the Natural branches were broken of from. (Rom.11:17-25)
             (2)  Paul wrote to the Church at Ephesus
                    (a)  Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands.
                    (b)  That at that time [before the Cross] ye (you) were without Christ,
                    (c)   Being aliens (strangers) from the commonwealth of Israel, and
                    (d)  Strangers from the covenants of promise. (Rom.9:1-5)
                    (e)  Having no hope, and without God in the world:
                    (f)   But now in Christ Jesus ye (you) who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
                    (g)  For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition
between us. [Jew and Gentile]  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of
                          commandments contained in ordinances;
                    (h)  To make in himself of twain (two) one new man, so making peace;

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
        c.  There is "no difference between us (the natural branches) and them (the Gentile) Acts.15:9, Rom.2:28-29,
             Gal.3:28-29; 6:15-16, Eph.2:1-22; 3:1-12)
        d.  .

[0]   God has not cast away his people ? - No they broke (Lev.26:1-33, Rom.11:19) covenant with God.  He didn't
        brake Covenant
(Heb.6:13-20,2Tim.2:13) with the Jew (the children of the flesh of Abraham).  The apostle Paul
writes, "if they abide not still in unbelief shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again." (Rom.11:23)

        a.  Graffed back into what?  The SAME OLIVE TREE that they broke from through unbelief. (Jer.31:31, Heb.8:8;
               10:16-18, Rom.11:20)

        b.  This is the SAME OLIVE TREE that the Gentiles were graffed into. (Rom.11:19, Eph.2:1-22; 3:1-12)
        c.  One plan, one purpose "that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the
enmity thereby:  And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.  Now therefore ye are no more
strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God." (Eph.2:16-19)

[0]   Foreshadowed in the Feast of Passover - "If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason
of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the Passover unto the Lord.  The fourteenth day
of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul
shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the Lord in his appointed
season, that man shall bear his sin."
        a.  If any - Whosoever Gospel (John.3:16, 2Cor.5:17)
        b.  Be unclean by reason of a dead body - JESUS / MESSIAH Crucified on the Cross (  )
        c.   Or be in a journey afar off - The children of the flesh of Abraham have been on the long journey since
              braking covenant with God. (Rom.11:25)
              (1)  This "long journey" has been aprox.2000 years
              (2)  Paul uses Ishmael and Esau to explain this (Rom.9:1-, Gal.4:21-31)
        d.  The fourteenth day of the second month - They were to keep Passover / no option after this second
             chance

[0]   Paul uses the pattern of the firstborn / Birthright - Birthright:
        a.  The first-born son had allotted to him also a double portion of the paternal inheritance (Deu 21:15-17).
Reuben was, because of his undutiful (not respectful or obedient) conduct, deprived of his birth-right
(Gen 49:4; 1Ch 5:1). Esau transferred his birth-right to Jacob (Gen 25:33).  Reuben was the first-born of
the patriarchs, and so the priesthood of the tribes belonged to him.  That honour was, however, transferred
by God from Reuben to Levi (Num 3:12,13; 8:18).
       b.   The first-born inherited the judicial authority of his father, whatever it might be (2Ch 21:3). By divine
appointment, however, David excluded Adonijah in favour of Solomon.
       c.   The rank of "first-born" and "first-begotten" as applied to the Messiah (Rom 8:29; Col 1:18; Hbr 1:4-6). As
first-born he has an inheritance superior to his brethren, and is the alone true priest.
       d.   JESUS fulfilled the Law of the firstborn / Birthright (Matt.5:17-19)
       e.   The Church is the Church of the firstborn (Heb.12:00)

[0]   (divine selection)[0] of grace." (Rom.11:5) - Election because God foreknew this remnant of Jews would
accept the grace and truth (of Jesus Christ (Messiah) has their name written in the Lamb's book of life

[0]   Hath obtained it - "For by grace (John.1:17, Matt.5:17-19, Rom.8:1-4) are ye (you) saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of
God: Not of works, (flesh / Human effort / No fig leaf aprons Gen.3:) lest any man should boast.
        a.  The "election" received the grace
        b.  The unelected (so-to-speak) did not BECAUSE they sort it NOT by faith. (Rom., Heb.4:1-11) God was not
casting them away, they chose. This was foreknown by God. He knew what their free choice would be.

[0]   God hath given them the spirit of slumber - (Rom.11:7-16, Matt.13:10-17, Heb.5:11-14; 6:1-3, 2Thes.2:1-9)
Think about Pharaoh (Rom.9:1-33) and the warning of Rom.11:21-22

[0]   It was their unbelief - The House of Judah / The Jews / as a Nation that caused them brake their covenant
with God.  There  are several examples of the "remnant" having to suffer the discipline of God upon the
collective Nation.  Joshua and Caleb (Num.14:). Jeremiah (Jer.29:10-11, 2Chron.36:22 This was because of a
        previous generation)

[0]   Remnant [of individuals of Jews] would accept the grace and truth - of Jesus Christ / Messiah)
        a.  The Law (which cannot keep Rom.3:20, Gal.) was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ /
             MESSIAH (John.1:17, Eph.2:8)
             (1)  An example: Circumcision - Grace and truth is fulfilled in our water Baptism. (Gal.5:3)
             (2)  Another example: Animal sacrifices -
             (3)  Another example: The high priest -
             (4)  Another example: The Feast of Passover -
NOTE: "Better" in the Book of Hebrews. Better because it "GRACE" pays the price for violating the
Law. GRACE FULFILLS the "righteousness" required by the Law. Rom.8:1-4. GRACE DOES NOT DESTROY
                    THE LAW. (Matt.5:17-19)
             (5)  There are some TODAY (as in the 1st. Cent.) that...
                   (a)  Refuse Christ as the Messiah and continued to look for a future Messiah.
                   (b)  There are some (like the Churches of Galatia) that the have received (accepted) Christ but still
keep the Law which Paul identifies as another Jesus / Gospel / spirit (Gal.1:1-8; 2:21; 2Cor.11:1-15)
WARNING: "We are not to have other gods besides God. (Exod.20:)
        b.  The Law (one witness) does fight against Grace. (a second witness) It establishes our faith. (Rom.3:21-31)
              NOTE:v.31
        c.  Jesus fulfilled the LAW. (Matt.5:17-19) NOTE: He did fulfill all their traditions and commandments which
they had added to the Law.
        d.
