When the children of Israel were delivered from Egyptian bondage, (Exod.12:1-51) they were one nation (Exod.19:1-6) until king Solomon, (Exodus - 2Chron.9:31) then division came. (1Kings.11-12) One was called the House of Israel which had Samaria as their Capital, and the House of Judah which had Jerusalem astheir Capital. It was during this time that the Prophets were sent to both houses. (See chart below) Peter says, "all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these(restoration Acts.3:20)days. (Acts.3:24, 1Peter.1:10-12, Matt.13:10-17, Rom.16:25-26, Acts.28:20-23)
