Tabernacle of David (Phase 7)

What was David's Tabernacle?
The Tabernacle (tent) of David was a "cloth hut"13 that housed the Ark of the Covenant in Mt. Zion. (1Chron.13:3, 7-14; 15:1-29; 16:1-43) Until this time the Ark of the Covenant belonged in the Tabernacle of Moses. (Exod.25:8-22; 40:20-38) where only the high priest had access once a year. (Heb.9:1-7) Now God was doing a  NEW THING !  Now the Ark was being made available by king David1 at anytime, (24/7)2 not just to the high priest once a year. (Heb.9:7, Lev.16) "All this, said David, the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern" (1Chron.28:19)  God gave David the authority to make the Ark available!  There were others that assumed to handle to Ark in their own way, without God's authority and were judged for it.(Num.14:44-45, 1Sam.4:1-11 [1Sam.2:11-12], 1Sam.5:1-12; 6:1-21, 2Sam.6:1-7) David was blessed because he was serving his generation by the will of God. (Acts.13:22, 36, 1Chron.28:19)

James3 "infallibly" interprets the Tabernacle of David

To "this (Acts.8-15) agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things." (Acts 15:15-18 / Amos.9:11-12) Review: Phase 2, page 1 "What is the Tabernacle of David." The apostle James interpreted the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David to be the answer for the Jew and Gentile being made one in Christ Jesus. (Acts.15:1-18, Eph.2:1-19; 3:1-12) What James was saying by the Spirit of God, "here is where we are in the blueprint!" The rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David.
(Click here for full explanation of this chart)

It took three times before the Church at Jerusalem entered into the revelation of David's Tabernacle.

This revelation was "That the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:..And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (Eph 3:6-12)

1.  The first attempt: From the day of Pentecost until Philip preached at Samaria
The Church at Jerusalem had kept the presence of God exclusively to themselves. (Acts.1:8; 2-8
     Acts.2:1; 8:5-17)
This was not God's intention, or purpose, it was to "as many as the Lord our
God shall call."(Acts.2:39 / Note: The words "afar off" Acts.2:39, Eph.2:13)

     a.  The Spirit of God did not stop leading the Church into all truth (John.16:12-13) after the day
of Pentecost. There was still a purpose (i.e. "Land"Deut.12:1-12) to possess.
They were to be
a witness in "Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth," (Acts.1:8)
and to come to the "full the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:" (Eph.2:1-22; 3:1-
          12; 4:11-16; 5:21-33)
This is exactly according to the pattern (blueprint). Mt. Sinai
(Jerusalem) was not the end of the journey. (See chart below) There was a "land"/ purpose to
possess and ultimately stop at the completion of Solomon's Temple. (Deut.12:1-12,
          Eph.2:20-22)  Review: Phase 2, page 1

    b.  The reality of the "land," is the heathen for an inheritance, (Heb.3:7-19; 4:1-11, Psa.2:8;
          33:12; 94:14 / Eph.1:18) "as lively stones"
(1Peter.2:5, 1Kings.) "built upon the foundation

(1Cor.3:10-11) of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner
          stone.
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In
whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Eph 2:20-22)
          Foreshadowed by Solomon's Temple.

    c.  Abraham was not looking for a natural city (Jerusalem) he was looking for a heavenly city,
in a "heavenly" land. This is the reality of the "ensample" (type) of Solomon's Temple as the
center of the earthly City of Jerusalem.  (Note:Heb.11:15-16; 12:18-23, Matt.2:12 "own
country") Besides, Paul interpreted "Jerusalem that now is" to be Hagar and Ishmael, and the
         Church to be Isaac. Gal.4:21-31.
John wrote that during the time of the Tribulation, the earthly
Jerusalem, "where our Lord was crucified," is spiritually called "Sodom and Egypt."
         (Rev.11:8)
I don't think Abraham was looking for this!

2.  The second attempt: After Samaria, God sent Peter to the Gentile House of Cornelius
These Gentiles  were saved, water baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost.(Acts.10:1-48)

However, the Church at Jerusalem (i.e. Pentecost / Sinai) was still "preaching the word to none
but unto the Jews only." (Acts.11:19) They had "harden" there hearts through unbelief, (Note:
     Num.14:1-45, Heb.3:7-19; 4:1)
towards the Gentiles (strangers, heathen) being included into
God's purpose and plan. (Tabernacle of David) The Gentiles were considered by the Church at
Jerusalem to be the "uncircumcised." (Acts.11:1-3; 15:1-5)

Note: These "Pharisees which believed" (Acts.15:5) failed to realize that Under the Old
Covenant God had already foretold in the "blueprint," that the stranger" (foreigner, alien)
 could
be included in the Covenants of promise if they would keep the Passover / Saved (Exod.12:48,
     1Cor.5:7-8)
and be circumcised / Water Baptized (Exod.12:48, Col.2:10-12, Rom.2:28-29)

This compares to the second time around (Num.20:1-29) that the "Church in the
wilderness" failed to enter into God's purpose. (i.e. Tabernacle of David / Jew and Gentile
     [the stranger] together Eph.2:11-19; 3:1-12)

3.  The third time the 1st. century Church entered the purpose of God.
God the Father, by-passed the Church at Jerusalem (i.e. Sinai Gal.4:25 [the older generation
     Num.14:26-44]
/ the "Pentecost" generation Acts.2:1
) "because of their unbelief," (Heb.3:7-19;
     4:1-11) and
hardness their heart towards God's purpose. (Gen.12:1; 15:1-21; 50:22-26,
     Exod.1-12, Deut.12:1-12, 1Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19 / 1Cor.10:1-11, Eph.2:20-22,
     Heb.11:10; 12:22)
     a.  God reconciled the Jew and the Gentile together, and brought them into His purpose.
          (Eph.2:1-19; 3:1-12)
as "saints" and fellow citizens of the Household of God.

     b.  This transition took place over several years. Peter did not go to the House of Cornelius
until 10 years after Pentecost and Samaria was approximately 2? years before that.

     c.  The realization that this is the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David did not happen until
          about 50 years after Pentecost.

Note: The Book of Acts and the Epistles is the New Testament reality of how "the Church in the
wilderness "contented" for the "land" in the Book of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Samuel, Kings and
     Chronicles.

David's Tabernacle was NOT the end of the journey

Solomon's Temple was the end of the journey. (Deut.6:23; 12:1-12, 1Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19)
(Review: Phase2, page.1)  This is why Paul wrote, "For this cause...(the cause that we are to be built an "holy temple."/ Solomon's TempleEph.2:20-22)...God...by revelation...made known unto me the mystery...that the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs...of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel." (Eph.3:1-6) Tabernacle of David. (Acts.15:15-16) The Spirit of God, through the "wise master builder" (Paul) was leading (John.16:12-13, 1Cor.2:1-14) the 1st.
century Church into all truth by following the pattern (i.e. "ensample"-type) of the Old Testament.

The Revelation of the Tabernacle of David also brought the Revelation of how to worship God.

David said "the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works
of this pattern" (1 Chron 28:19-20) of how the Levities (1Chron.23:25-26, 30) where to be set around the Ark of the Covenant with
singing, stringed instruments, wind instruments, and percussion instruments. (1Chron.15-16)
This pattern was passed on to Solomon (2Chron.8:14) and continued by the good kings of Judah that followed. (2Chron.29:25; 20:1-24; 23:18; 29:1-29, Ezra.3:1-13, Neh.12:36, 45)  The kings of Israel had a counterfeit pattern. They invented themselves instruments of musick (music) "like David." (Amos.6:4-5, 1Kings.12:31, 2Chron.13:9)
     .

David's Tabernacle is still the pattern for our worship today

The apostle Paul reaffirmed David's order of worship unto the New Testament (Covenant) as we gather around Jesus, the reality of the Ark today! Review: Phase 4, page3  (Matt:18:20) In his epistle to the Corinthian Church, (1Cor.14:26) the Church at Ephesus, (Eph.5:19) and the Colossian Church, (Col.3:16)
Paul told them to bring a "Psalm" from
the book of the Psalms4 (1Cor.14:26) [Psalm 150 summarizes David's pattern of worship]  He says to sing and make
"melody" (to twitch and twang on a stringed instrument5) with a "Psalm." (from the Book of Psalms.) (Eph.5:19) and to teach and admonish one another in "Psalms." (Col.3:16)

1.  It is no accident in the last 40 years that there has been an increase and greater
understanding in our worship before the Lord. This is not a "fad," it is according to the pattern.
     (Note: The chart below)
2.  Forty years, according to 2Peter.3:8-9, Psa.90:4, is only one hour 6 before the Lord. This is
half a life time to many of us, (Psa.90:4,10) but not according to God's timetable. It is no
wonder "all flesh is as grass...the grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away."
(1Peter.1:24) Don't make the mistake of measuring God's visitations by your father's, father's
generation, as the scoffers did in Peters day. (2Peter.3:1-9) "The Lord is not slack (tardy, late)
concerning his promise..." (2Peter.3:9) God is right on His time! Not on your time!
3.  When Paul and Silas were imprisoned "at midnight" they "prayed and sang praises unto
God" in the middle of their troubles. (Acts.16:25) It is interesting that there is no mention
of singing praises, only prayer when Peter was in prison. (Acts.12:1-19) The reason for this is
because the 1st. century Church had not arrived at the revelation of the Tabernacle of David
yet. (Remember: The revelation of the Tabernacle of David (Acts.15:15-27) was not until 50?
years after the day of Pentecost. When Peter went to the House of Cornelius (Acts.10:1-
     48)
was about 10? years after Pentecost, and Peter's imprisonment was sometime after that.

     .
The Tab.of David did not exclude the Tabernacle of Moses

"So he (David) left there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required: And Obed-edom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obed-edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters: And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place that was at Gibeon, To offer burnt offerings unto the Lord upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the Lord, which he commanded Israel; And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because his mercy endureth for ever; And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters. And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house. (1 Chron 16:37-17:1)

1.  God always goes "from glory to glory," line upon line.
God never adds truth, and then takes truth away.1 (Note: 2Peter.1:4-9, 2Cor.3:18) He leads us
"precept upon precept; line upon line; here a little and there a little."
(Isa.28:9-11)
God's Purpose
(Eph.3:1-12) has unfolded book to book, from Genesis to Revelation.
     a.  When Jesus came to "build" his Church, (Matt.16:18) it was to "confirm" the Covenant
(Dan.9:27, Gal.3:17, Rom.15:8) that God had made with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, Moses and David. Jesus did not come to start over again in the New Testament. He
came to continue and complete God's Redemptive plan that the Law and the Prophets
          spoke of.
(Rom.3:21-31; 16:25-26, Acts.28:20-23) Jesus told the disciples that many
"prophets and righteous men" (of the Old Covenant) have desired to see the continuation of
the "things" which ye see, and have not seen them."  (i.e. the building of the Church -
          Matt.13:17;1Peter.1:12)
     b.  Peter said, "
Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who
prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time
the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings
of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto
themselves, but unto us they did minister the things
, which are now reported unto you by
          them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven;
which things the angels desire to look into.
(1 Peter 1:10-13)

When "they did minister the things" of the Tabernacle of Moses, they were ministering
unto us (the Church) because the pattern continues. The Prophets and righteous men
desired to see and hear it's the reality. (completion, fulfillment)

When "they did minister the things" of the Levitical Priesthood, they were ministering
unto us (the Church) because the pattern continues. The Prophets and righteous men
desired to see and hear it's the reality. (completion, fulfillment)
When "they did minister the things" of the sacrifices and gifts, they were ministering
unto us (the Church) because the pattern continues. The Prophets and righteous men
desired to see and hear it's the reality. (completion, fulfillment
When "they did minister the things" of...(apply this to any place in the Old Covenant), they
were ministering unto us (the Church) because the pattern continues. The Prophets and
righteous men desired to see and hear it's the reality. (completion, fulfillment

New notes as of -----------------------------------

2.  The significance of the continuing of the Tab. of Moses. and the Church at Jerusalem.
     a.  The Tabernacle of Moses was the "present truth" that was given at Sinai, that carried
          the "Church in the wilderness until the time of king David. (Exod.19 - 40, - 1Chron.13:3;
          15:1-29, Heb.8:5)
     b.  Mount Sinai is interpreted by the apostle Paul as "Jerusalem which now is." (Gal.4:25)
     c.  Israel (The Church in the wilderness Acts.7:38) arrived at Mount Sinai fifty days after  they
          sacrificed the Passover Lamb.
(Exod.12:1-6; Exod.19:3, 16)
     e.  The 1st. century Church (the Israel of God Gal.6:15-16. Rom.2:28-29) arrived at Jerusalem,
fifty days after Christ was sacrificed as the true Passover Lamb. (This was the Day of
          Pentecost.
(Acts.2:1)
      f.  The Tabernacle pattern was the "present truth" that was the foundation of the church in the
wilderness that carried them from Sinai until the revelation of the Tabernacle of David.
     g.  The "present truth" of the day of Pentecost, carried the 1st. century church until the time of
the revelation of the Tabernacle of David. Acts.15:1-16 (i.e. the revelation of the Jew and
Gentiles being reconciled together in Christ, "to make in Himself one new man."
          Eph.2:1-19, v.15)
      h. When David became king, he placed the Ark of the Covenant in a new place, in Mt. Zion.
(1Chron.13-16) Now God's presence was available 24/7. "In time of need" (Heb.4:16)
       i.  Jesus was raised up to sit on the throne of David (Acts.2:30) and He made God's
           presence available to all. (John.7:37-39; 14:16, 26; 16:12-13)

However the Church at Jerusalem (i.e. the Sinai / older generation / previous vi station)
continued as it had for the past 50 years, while God's presence was being made available
to "all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (i.e. the Gentiles, the
nations, heathen, the Tabernacle of David / Mt. Zion. Acts.2:38-39, Eph.2:13 "afar off")

            __________________________________________________________________

Once again, God was foreshadowing using the pattern (blueprint) of the Tabernacle
of Moses and David what would take place in the first century Church.

3.  Note Paul's warning to the Hebrew Christians.

For "ye are not come unto the mount (Mt. Sinai) that might be touched, and that burned with
fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice
of words; which voice they that heard in treated that the word should not be spoken to them any
     more:
(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch
the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
And so terrible was the sight, that
Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the
city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels..."
     (Heb 12:18-23)

More notes to come     There is many things still to explain concerning the Tabernacle
of David that will be added to this study as the months go by.
Now to Phase 8 The Feast of Passover

Notes:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. This is a key point because David (who qualified as a prophet, [Acts.2:30] priest [Matt.12:3-4 / 1Sam.21:5-6, Num.24:1-9] and king [2Sam.2:4; 5:3-4]) foreshadows what Jesus (THE Prophet, [Acts.3:22 / Deut.18:15] Priest [Heb.3:1] and King [Acts.2:30]) would do in the New Testament Church with the presence of God. (Foreshadowed by the Ark of the Covenant)
2. The high priest had access once a year in the Tabernacle of Moses, anytime in the Tabernacle of David, and back to once a year in Solomon's Temple.
3. Infallible because
the apostle James, inspired by the Holy Spirit, took the prophet Amos and laid a  foundation (direction) for the 1st.century Church. (Eph.2:20-22, 1 Cor.3:10)
4. The Greek word refers to the book of Psalms. (Strong's #5568) Also EVERYTIME this word is used it is ALWAYS referring to the Book of Psalms.
5. The Greek Word for "sing" is to twitch and twang on a stringed instrumental. (Strong's #5567)
6. If a 1000 years is one day divided by 24 Hours in our day. This calculates out as each hour to be equal to 40 years. (Aply this to the Seventh seal. Rev.8:1-4. This "half hour" is 20 years.
7.  In Jobs case it was referring to what he had gained in this world, not landmarks of truth.

(Job.1:21)
